Innovative Offering: Change Leadership
New Change Leadership Certificates and Master’s Degree
As today’s workplace increases in complexity, managers need to possess the capabilities for leading an organization through the challenges of change.
To prepare managers for these roles, the Walker School has created an innovative academic offering: a series of three new graduate Change Leadership certificates and a Master of Arts degree. Launched at Webster University’s home campus in St. Louis, Missouri in fall 2015, the Change Leadership program will also be available online beginning in spring 2016.
As the first stackable certificate program at Webster University, students have the option to complete a single certificate, two certificates, or all three certificates to earn the 37-credit hour Master’s degree in Change Leadership.
“Change leadership is an engine for making the change process work faster, smarter and more efficiently. To be effective, managers must be able to lead change which produces both employee engagement and business results.”
-Jeff Haldeman, PhD, Program Director
Change leadership is a complex issue for managers, and it requires individuals to incorporate theory, skills and professional frameworks to adapt to challenges in the workplace.
“Change has become the ‘new normal’ for today’s organizations, and boards and top management teams across all business sectors are asking, ‘How do we take on the challenge of leading our organization through the change process?’,” Barrett Baebler, D.Mgt, associate professor and chair of the management department, explained. “The Walker School’s Change Leadership program addresses this question by providing advanced skillsets in managed change processes, business-focused teamwork, diversity, strategic communications, and achievement of breakthrough results.”
